Dishonest business practices

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
We made a purchase with them in 2020 for a single label and they signed us up for an account we didn't authorize. They will not cancel it despite multiple requests to do so. They have stolen over $400 in fees from us over the last few years. They recently tried to charge a new card I received without me having given them access or information. Never again.

Stamps - Theft
I couldn't print 1 lable in jan 2022 and have been paying 20 a month for attempting. I have shipped plenty in the past and know i didn't sign up for monthly charges. They respond with auto responses and are not returning my money. I only noticed it when i updated my debit card to which they're pounding w emails that they can't process the payments i never agreed to. I went to complain everywhere i can and warn others and their fb comments are loaded with these type stories. Do not use them!

Need to know about my package

I'm not sure to whom I'm supposed to talk to. When I kept looking about information on the package I sent last Thursday, it did not arrive by Friday at 6 PM, I understood that Stamps could help me. When I talked directly to Stamps, I was told Stamps doesnt take care of my situation. Either way, I'm really upset over the whole scenario. I havent gotten any kind of satisfaction yet.

Original review Jul 22, 2021
I cannot add a new credit card online. Error message says the number is incorrect. it is not. Your customer service numbers have been busy 100% of the time since I started calling you last July 12. please help. and don't tell me to keep trying. Your numbers are not working at all. CC entered are canceled, as my bank merged with another bank and issued new cards. Stamps will no be able to collect monthly bills and other charges until this is resolved. Please help.

Stamps.com is a scam

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Their online service is a trick, you sign up without knowing if you're not careful. I think I cancel, but the charge of $15.99 shows up. I call to complain and they say it was a mistake. Uh-huh. I ask "Ashley" and she says she doesn't know what happened. I ask for corporate number and she doesn't know it. I call back and get "Shannon" and she doesn't know corporate number either. I get a supervisor, and he says that the number I've just called is the corporate number. I ask why Ashley and Shannon didn't know that, and he says sarcastically, "I have no idea." Next day, I find out the corporate number is 310 482-**** and the CEO is Tim McBride. This is a company on the hustle. Their m.o. is Trick and Bill, then evade. Great business strategy.

Hidden Monthly Bill

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Stamps - Hidden Monthly Bill
Signed up for the free trial period. Thought that I had canceled the service, but apparently did not. Each month was billed about $16 for a service that I did not use, and was never notified of the expense being pulled from my credit card. Found out only recently from pulling credit card statement that this charge was occurring. I had assumed that my wife was using the site to purchase stamps for her work, but she was not. The pro service is a scam. Hopefully I will be able to get compensated for the money that was paid for a service that was never used but for the first month.

Stay away. Go to USPS.

Totally scam about their service. Wish I can put negative 5 star here.It appears to be a pay-per-use service but there is a 15.99 monthly charge hiding. They won't send you any bill for that charge--and wish you forget about it. I realized that several months after they charge me for more than $80--and I can't print a postage from their website--you need to install their App--that could be bad for your security, since this company is so shameless. You can get everything from usps.com without any monthly charge. BBB investigated this company last year, FYI. The stamps.com promised to improve transparency--but no, they didn't, yet. Stay away before the problem is resolved.

Stamps.com statement under questions on Google says "stamps.com is actually cheaper than USPS". ABSOLUTE LIES they have hidden fees and service charges of $19.12 per transaction.

Buy $25 of service and get an extra hidden $19.12 taken out of your account. SICKENING, I DO ALL THE WORK AND TRY AND SELL STUFF AND THEY RIP US OFF.

Free Stamps Promo with Undisclosed Subscription Fee of $15.99/mo

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Stamps.com is engaged in two (2) deceptive practices in connection with a promotion that it offers by mail, providing a sheet of free, print-at-home stamps in exchange for creation of an online account as part of a purported risk-free trial. FIRST, Stamps.com does NOT clearly and conspicuously disclose that it will automatically enroll consumers who create an online account and accept the print-at-home stamps in a subscription service at a rate of $15.99 per month.

(It appears that the California counties of Santa Cruz and Santa Clara recently settled a lawsuit with Stamps.com concerning the same allegations in September 2015. See, e.g., HERE: https://www.sccgov.org/sites/da/newsroom/newsreleases/Pages/NRA2015/Stamps-com.aspx). SECOND, Stamps.com is misrepresenting its treatment of these subscription fees when consumers call requesting a refund. By coincidence, I identified the first month's subscription fee, withdrawn by EFT from my personal checking account, the same day it was first debited in May 2016.

The same day, I contacted Stamps.com to request (1) cancellation of the subscription, (2) closure of my account, and (3) a refund of the subscription fee. The net impression provided by Stamps.com's CSR orally and by Stamps.com's follow-up emails was that Stamps.com had complied with my requests and refunded the first subscription fee. However, after one week's time, it became apparent that Stamps.com had NOT actually refunded the $15.99 subscription fee. Instead, it appears that Stamps.com intended only to "waive" the NEXT month's subscription fee, but retain the $15.99 it had already charged me.

Both (1) the failure to clearly and conspicuously disclose the terms of the promotion regarding automatic enrollment in (and billing for) the subscription service at a rate of $15.99 per month and (2) the misrepresentations regarding cancellation of the service and the refunding of the original (or waiving of the subsequent) service fee are deceptive.

The Stamps.com service agreement contains a mandatory pre-dispute arbitration provision that prohibits consumers from filing or participating in a class action to resolve disputes with Stamps.com. As such, consumers cannot realistically confront the practice, and state and federal authorities should considering investigating the matter.

Preferred solution: State or federal authorities commence investigation to (1) change Stamps.com's practices (i.e., (1) its disclosures regarding the promo & (2) its refund practices & representations) to make whole all consumers who have been deceived and injured.

Www.stamps.com is deceptive and a crook

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I listened to a podcast and heard them mention www.stamps.com and how there was a deal doing on to get a few free things (like a scale and some sheets to print stamps on). I signed up thinking it would be great to not have to go to the post office, but little did I know that they would charge my account $15.99 every month. Shame on me for not monitoring my account more closely, but they should have also sent an email each month notifying me of the billing charge. When I called to cancel, it was a 10-step process of them trying to get me to stay and all I wanted to do was cancel. Thank goodness I am rid of this company - I do not recommend using because in addition to the pro-plan prices you ALSO have to buy the postage AND sheets to print the postage on. Avoid at all costs!!

STAMPS.COM: HOW TO BEAT THE SCAM

abysmal, dishonest scam. after much effort, arguments, anger and "disconnected" calls, I finally cancelled and got a full refund: HERE'S HOW YOU GET THE REFUND: don't bother with the electronic maze of menus. call: 877 395 **** and select option #4. that should get you one with one of these people: http://blog.stamps.com/category/customer-support/ this may require 1-2 transfers up the management chain, but as you go, make sure to get everyone's full name (they're obligated to give you first name and last initial). get a call back number as you go. they WILL disconnect you deliberately along the way. don't give up! Tell them you are recording the conversation. Enforce that you will and/or have contacts the better business bureau, postmaster general's office, and that you are informed you have grounds for a class action suit (indeed, you do). Mention them by first name and last initial repeatedly. Remind them they are being recorded. Eventually they will comply, close the fraudulent account and issue a full refund. Finally, tell them that, if following the refund they call/email with additional offers/discounts/incentives/ploys, you will file harassment charges. This should avoid all the follow-up nonsense people seem to be bombarded with.

DO NOT TRY THIS!!! YOU WILL BE CHARGED!!!

I tried the "free trial" and tried to cancel but was told that my free trial was extended and then was charged the day after that ended a $9.99 fee. When I called about the charge and they refused to reverse it and said that I was being charged a pro-rated fee for the next billing cycle. I escalated to a supervisor and made her make sure my account was cancelled and had to accept that I wouldn't be charged that pro-rated fee, but she refused to reverse the initial charge. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! THEY WILL SCAM YOU!!!

Stamps dot com are online predators

Stamps .com is a fraudulent servivce hooking you in with free $5.00 coupon urging you to sign up to use it , then when you forget to use it they start billing your credit card for $15.99 for a minimum of 4 months before you can cancel it. I Never used the service once never downloaded the service , threw it out in the trash ..which is what it is... I dint even know they were charging me , their emails went to spam folder! And forgot all about it until I checked a wells account I had forgotten about and noticed $15.99 for the last 4 months!! Shysters, liars with good attorneys to write agreements in ways people do not really understand. After an hour on the phone with those horrible people they agreed that since I didn't use any of it that I would get the money back. I don't belive they will refund me but we will see! I have decided anything that comes to my email as an enticing advertisement will be automatinally deleted. I will never sign up for anything online ever again ! I learned my lesson from the liars and charlatans like these people .. Who needs millions of stamps I don't even send anything by mail anymore!

Stamps.com

Signed up with Stamps.com this morning, at 7:30am. Was in the installation process when my computer would not support the software they wanted me to install without spending an additional $79.00. I called Stamps.com 20 minutes later and they said I could not cancel my order. This was after they had me on the phone with two people that did their best to have me spend more money, with more free offers. The free offers all included me spending over $100. They then told me it was to late to cancel the scale I requested with the sign up even though it was said to be free. They said I would have to fill out paperwork after I received it and return it for a refund. This is all 10 minutes after the order ??? It can't be stopped ?? More brainwashing on the telephone to get me to spend more money. I told them No, No , No, many times over. Then they said it was to late to cancel. Geeez
